Has Your Site Been Blacklisted?

Could Your Weblog Be on the BlackListed Web Site!
Less than a week ago, I acquired the domain name of WeblogTips.com from a person that decided to let it go after owning it for 3 years. Prior to purchasing this domain, I asked a representative at GoDaddy.com if he could run a ‘Spam Blacklist’ check to see if it had any skeletons in the closet.
The domain came up clean as a whistle, so I decided to use it in place of my previous blog domain and name Web SEO Blog Tips.
Even though my background consists of mostly search engine optimization, I didn’t want to limit myself to strictly SEO tips for blogs, so I moved my blog over to the new domain WeblogTips.com, which gives it a much broader name for a site that will be specializing in any and all types of blogging tips to increase traffic to your site.

As you know, the Web is full of threats today, ranging from spammers to virus infected websites. Because of this there are many sites out there with a blacklist database. The goal of these sites is to help companies identify problematic domains and IP addresses.
If you would like to see if your site happens to be in any of these blacklist databases, visit BlackListAlerts.org. When you arrive on the site, put your domain name in the box, click the ‘Check’ button; once the results show, it will give you a list of all the sites, and whether your domain is OK or not.
Closing Comments About the Black List Alerts Site
Moving to a new web hosting company, or making a switch to a different server would be a reason to use this site. When I moved this blog over to a grid server plan and purchased my static IP address, I did a little blacklist lookup to make sure it was clear of any issues.
If you decide to add an external link to your blogroll, check the site first to make sure it’s clean. Google and other search engines will penalize you for linking to a bad site.
